LUCELEC wishes to advise the motoring public and residents of Balata of planned maintenance works at Balata (the area before the Balata Gas Station), on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. This is to allow LUCELEC to undertake tree trimming operations in the area.
The vegetation clearing exercise will affect Ti Morne, Almondale, Biroo Development in Balata, Lower Balata near the old post office and the Balata Gas Station.
The road will be blocked from the Almondale entrance (near the zoo area) and at the Balata junction near the old post office to traffic in both directions. The works will result in intermittent traffic disruptions. The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force Traffic Department officers will be on site to assist with re-routing vehicles.
Road users are encouraged to be mindful of the various safety measures such as reflective tape, cones, barriers and warning signs that will be put in place to designate the work area.
