The IS Department is the 2018 Small Department of the Year. One of its members, Brent Octave also received a Special Achievement Award for his work in developing physical security, electrical redundancy and added network resiliency to the new server storage room that houses the company’s most critical equipment. A Special Achievement Award was also presented to Carryl Haynes of Generation for his quick decisions, and ability to test and programme software that kept the company from having to load share following the unavailability of one unit and failure on another.
The Finance and Accounts Department is the 2018 Large Department of the Year. These were some of the major winners from the annual staff awards held on Friday, May 17 under the theme, “Lighting the Path to Greener Opportunities”. The event began with lunch before getting down to the business of recognition.
Included in the final list of major awards dubbed “LUCELEC Oscars” was the one presented to the 2018 Employee of the Year Mara Jankie and Runners Up Joanel Malcolm and Lee James. Mara and Joanel are members of the Customer Service Department; Lee works in the System Control Department’s Protection and Control section. Congratulations are also in order to the 2018 Supervisor of the Year Patricia Alfred from our Rodney Bay Office.
Special Awards handed out included for Innovation to Thea Charlemagne of Customer Service. She was recognized for the design of a number of forms to enable better information dissemination to customers. A Customer Care Award was presented to Dayne Alexander for above and beyond efforts to resolve customer issues. Three employees were recognized for Living The LUCELEC Values – Graham King of Generation, Lee James of System Control and Sybil Dostalie from Customer Service who also won a Leadership Award alongside Rontgen Charles of Transmission & Distribution. The Leadership Award is for exemplary leadership skills resulting in the accomplishment of significant divisional or departmental goals and objectives related to employee development and engagement.
Awards were also presented to the Employees of the Third and Fourth Quarter. The Employees of the Third Quarter were Kevin Charles and Othniel Dujon. Mara Jankie, Tricia James, Joanel Malcolm, Lee James and James Isidore were the Employees of the Fourth Quarter.
