Working with High Voltage

Emergency Response to Electrical Shock

What to Do in Case of Electrical Shock:

  1. DO NOT touch the victim if they are still in contact with electricity.
  2. Turn off the power source immediately if possible.
  3. Use a non-conductive object (wood, rubber) to separate the victim from the source.
  4. Call emergency services (911) immediately.
  5. Perform CPR if the victim is unresponsive and not breathing.
  6. Treat for shock by keeping the victim warm and lying down.
