LUCELEC Co-Hosts Successful CARILEC Conference From all accounts, the company and CARILEC put on a stellar CEO’s & Leadership conference this past week. Praise was heaped in person as well as on social media where one user named Pierre Bernard, the Managing Partner of BEA Energy tweeted, “Thank you Trevor Louisy, CEO of @powerofcaring, for co-hosting this week’s @carilecpower CEO and Leadership Conference!”
There was companywide participation in the conference held from May 21-25 at the Royalton Hotel. During his welcome address at the Opening Ceremony on Tuesday, May 21, the MD spoke of the effort that went into planning the event.
“We have been working with CARILEC to plan a Conference programme that is stimulating, thought provoking and solutions-oriented. The CEOs & Leadership Conference is among CARILEC’s most important forums. It brings together those responsible for the strategic visions of the respective utilities, those who shape the future of the electricity sector in their respective territories and, by extension, the entire Caribbean. Of course, in all things, finding the right balance is critical. So we’ve made sure it’s not all work and weighty matters to occupy your time. The conference schedule includes some opportunities for site seeing, relaxation and fun. I encourage you to make the most of the extra-curricular activities.”

The Conference Planning Committee the MD referenced included three members of the LUCELEC Team. In addition, Managers Callixta Branford, Jevon Nathaniel and Ziva Phillips moderated sessions during the week and Planning Manager (Ag) Cornelius Edmund presented on the company’s RE plans and findings of a battery storage study.
CARILEC was also supported by team members like Karleen Edwin and Georgina Belas who volunteered during the various outings and events. And because the Conference included a tour of CDS, kudos must also go to the Generation staff who assisted in that activity.
The CEO’s & Leadership conference was held under the theme, “Rethinking? Disruption. Resilience. Sustainability.”
