Meet The LUCELEC Club Executive Team

Mr. Kirk Aroudel - President 

Kirk Aroudel joined the company in 2010 as a Linesman in the Transmission and Distribution Department.  In addition to being the 2015 Employee of the Year, Kirk is an active participant in Company social and sporting activities; including volleyball, in-house football, in-house cricket, and is also a member of the LUCELEC Power Dancers.

Under his stewardship, he hopes to transition the club to an organisation which is deeply centred on the needs of its members. Transparency and accountability are at the forefront for the team and Kirk asks members of the Club to be patient with the new management as they put measures in place to ensure that they can better serve you.

His goal as President is to provide opportunities for staff to meet and mingle in more relaxed settings in an attempt to better employee relations.  According to Kirk, “Our Team realizes that the demography of the organization is diverse, but we promise to provide options for activities and events which cater to the different groups and will inevitably bring us all closer together.”

“We have a very committed team, with each member well suited for their role and excited to see the development of the Club. We have identified several areas for improvement and we anticipate regular feedback from our members as to ways we may better serve them during our tenure.”

Mr. Carryl Haynes - Vice President 

Carryl Haynes joined the LUCELEC family in 2011 as a Trainee Engineer in the Generation Department. He has contributed to numerous projects in his department as well as other sections of the company. He is currently the project lead for the implementation of a new programming logic control (PLC) system for the Generation department.

In his spare time, Carryl engages in motorsports, competitive sport shooting, high performance engine building and engine management tuning. He also enjoys spending time outdoors, watching critically acclaimed movies and traveling. Carryl is excited about the opportunity to engage members of the club through non-traditional sporting activities and events and is looking forward to the active participation of members.

He brings to his role a track record of dedication, inspiring vision and a keen analytical perspective. Carryl welcomes this opportunity to serve our LUCELEC family. He realizes that the stakes are high and the value of the club to it members and the Company cannot be underscored. Together with his team, he plans to make informed decisions and create new opportunities and experiences for the entire LUCELEC family.

Ms. Septima Louisy, Secretary 

Septima Louisy is a General Clerk in the Transmission and Distribution Department where she is assigned to the Metering Section.  She is currently pursuing her BSc in Management Studies with the University of the West Indies Open Campus.

Septima provided assistance to the previous executive in various ways and sees this new appointment as an opportunity for further professional development. She hopes that during her tenure she can assist in broadening the scope of activities done by the club so as to facilitate a wider cross-section of staff participation.  

She intends to actively contribute to the success of the Club's executive and execute her responsibilities, to the best of her abilities.  Most of all, she looks forward to serving you, the members.

Ms. Julie Scott - Treasurer 

Accounts Supervisor, Julie Scott, is the newly appointed treasurer of the LUCELEC Club. Julie brings a wealth of accounting and finance knowledge which she has gained on the job and through continuous professional development.

Julie previously served on the executive in the capacity of Trustee from 2010 -2012 which has provided her insight into the management of the club’s operations. Outside of this, she has continued to provide support to the club through initiatives such as the Operation School Box Programme, CUEA Festival and the LUCELEC Power Dancers.

Ms. Scott’s objectives as club treasurer include enhancing transparency and good governance as well as improving the communication of information on the club’s financials to members. Apart from the duties of treasurer, Ms. Scott also has an interest in fostering staff engagement through professional, social and wellness activities hosted by the Club.

Ms. Chelsa Jongue - Communications Director

Chelsa Jongue is a Clerk in the Corporate Communications Department. She is currently pursuing a BSc in Marketing and is certified in the areas of public speaking and event management by the University of the West Indies Open Campus –Saint Lucia.

She is no stranger to volunteer work as she has served as the Secretary of the Board of Directors and former Chairperson of the Credit Committee of the Elks City of Castries Cooperative Credit Union. She is a former national volunteer and has served on various event planning committees including the 2015 Caribbean Utilities Employees Association (CUEA) Easter Festival. Chelsa is currently the Communications & Public Relations Officer of the UWI Open Campus Guild, St. Lucia.

Chelsa also worked closely with the former executive of the LUCELEC Club to assist with planning events and fundraisers. She is one of three females on the LUCELEC volleyball team and plays an active role in team St. Lucia’s participation at the CUEA Festival, including writing a song for this year’s Cultural Night presentation.  She is optimistic that the new executive will increase our club’s involvement in philanthropic activities and deliver the overall positive change needed by the members of the Club.

Ms. Kedia Daniel - Trustee

Ms. Kedia Daniel currently holds the position of Human Resources Assistant in the Human Resources Department and has been employed with the company from 2007. Kedia believes that the club is an effective employee engagement tool, and if used properly, can build and foster the employer-employee relationship in the workplace.

Kedia is the founder of the Operation School Box Programme which was launched in 2014 and has touched the lives of 106 students to date.  She hopes that in the near future, the programme can be reviewed in an effort to improve and ensure its sustainability.

She looks forward to being a part of the new executive which will focus not only on sports and social activities but on opportunities for personal and professional development for its members through training and other avenues.

Mr. Jean-Michel Parle - Trustee

Jean-Michel Parle has been employed at LUCELEC since 2011 and is currently a Trainee Engineer in the company’s Planning Department. During his tenure, he has contributed to a number of initiatives, including waste heat recovery studies, LUCELEC’s transition into solar PV, Saint Lucia’s National Energy Transition Strategy (NETS) and public engagement and education activities.

Outside of work, Jean-Michel enjoys reading, socialising, travelling and all types of outdoor activities. He brings to the role of trustee, a keen attention to detail, an analytical background and demonstrated ability to work cooperatively.

He is firmly committed to supporting the new executive’s goal of transforming the club into a respected, effective and results-driven organisation that is responsive to the needs of its membership and the wider community.
