On Tuesday, December 22, the LUCELEC Club held its Annual General Meeting via Zoom to report to the membership on Club matters and appoint a new executive team.
The newly elected executive will be led by Corporate Communications Assistant Chelsa Jongue, who served as the Communications Director on the former executive of the Club. Ricky Hippolyte from T&D was elected as Vice President.
Desiré St. Marthe from T&D was elected Treasurer, Sarah Alexander of Purchasing and Stores elected Secretary and Jason Leon of T&D elected Communications Director. Alpheaus Alexander of T&D South and Stacey Chandler of Customer Service are the new Trustees. Former President, Kirk Aroudel will continue to serve as the immediate past president.
The members of the executive team are no strangers to volunteering. Jason was appointed to the Club executive a few years ago as the Sports Coordinator. Alpheaus has served on the planning committee for staff awards for a number of years and Desiré and Sarah assisted the former executive in planning and executing their events.
The executive team is excited and ready to serve you. Chelsa said “The last executive did an amazing job in ensuring that the events and activities hosted by the Club were inclusive to all members and we will definitely look to build on that. There were some other projects in the pipeline from the previous executive that I would like to see to fruition, such as the review of the Clubs constitution. However, after our Team meets in the coming weeks, we will be able to give our members a better idea of what they can look forward to from our executive.”
The executive also hopes to continue to collaborate with the HR Department to host events such as the movie night and Dwivé Kwéyòl.
As per the Club constitution, the new executive will appoint a Sports and Social Coordinator to the team.
