Credit Control

The Credit Control Section is a relative newbie to Finance and Accounts. Its responsibilities previously fell under Customer Service.  You can think of Credit Control as the company’s debt collector. Its responsibilities previously fell under Customer Service.

  • They chase down old debts and work with government, commercial, industrial and domestic customers for payment
  • Applies payments made through third parties like SurePay, banks and credit unions, to customer accounts
  • This is the section customers make payment arrangements with if they can’t pay their bills in full
  • They make reminder calls to customers and work with contractors to disconnect and reconnect customers. The proliferation of AMI meters in the system also enables the section to perform this function remotely
